Town of Garda Italy, a tourist resort with traditions
The oldest tradition of Garda Italy, is the fishing activity and you can see it at the harbour: the moored boats are those of the fishermen, that in the early morning go to fish.

The name is probably coming from the evolution of the longobard term Warda, Guard, reffered to the fortress that was build as a defence on the Rock (Rocca di Garda).

Interesting things to see in Garda:
on the promenade Regina Adelaide, the Palazzo del Capitano, the Losa and Palazzo Carlotti (XVI sec.); the Curch of S. Greater Maria, erected in the XVIII century on the rests of a previous religious building, it is characterized from a bell tower of the XV century; the Tower of the Clock, that it is the main entrance to the ancient village; Fregoso palace, built in the XVI century from a noble local family.
