Lake Garda emissary Town
Peschiera Lake Garda's real city fortress, completely enclosed from the water, is a culture, art and architecture jewel. The ancient one " Arilica" , from always strategic point of Lake Garda, was built on river Mincio, the only Lake Garda's emissary.
To the times of the Roman, it accommodated already an association of “navicellari” that ferried men and goodses from north to south of the lake, to the Mincio river.
Already Dante it had described it " Beautiful and strong arnese" , the city possessed a rocca to the times of the Scaligeri family, it was enclosed in powerful pentagonal fortress under the domination of the "Serenissima" (Venice) in the 1500's. In the '800 more, the Quadrilateral became part of the defensive system, together with Legnago, Mantova and Verona.
The longest wide beaches watch the cone of Mount Baldo from South. There are canes field in which they find shelter various the species of aquatic fauna.Ideal for long walks, the ciclabile track of the Mincio river, along the high bastions of the encircled imposing sixteenth century building, and open to the visitor a nature and peace atmospheres, following the green emerald of waters of the river, in a game of lights and colors.
